Initial Dental Hygiene Exam

This includes a comprehensive assessment of your oral health and overall health. Dental hygiene examination consists of reviewing your medical and dental history, screening for oral cancer, checking your head and neck for any abnormalities, performing a thorough examination of the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, and evaluating your periodontal health. The combination of all gathered information will be used to create a dental hygiene diagnosis, which will then aid in preparing treatment for your needs. See pricing details here.

Dental Cleaning

Scaling and/or root planning, otherwise known as periodontal therapy or deep cleaning, is the process of eliminating soft (plaque) and hard (tartar) deposits from the teeth. These deposits can occur both above and below the gum line. The removal of bacterial plaque and tartar helps maintain healthy teeth and gums, aiding the prevention of gingivitis and periodontal disease (gum disease).

Dental Polishing

Selective dental polishing, also known as prophylaxis, is done to remove bacterial plaque and extrinsic stains that accumulate on teeth from certain foods and/or drinks. This leaves the tooth surfaces clean and smooth so that bacteria are unable to adhere to them.

Digital X-Rays

Dental x-rays help visualize diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissue that cannot be seen with a simple oral exam. Accessing the depth of suspicious cavities, bone structures, abnormalities, and development of the teeth provides a complete dental hygiene diagnosis. Your X-rays will be forwarded directly to your dentist. Please note that it is the patient’s responsibility to obtain their annual dental exam from a dentist for diagnostic purposes.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that prevents decay and general sensitivity. Fluoride helps strengthen the enamel of the teeth by aiding in the remineralization of the teeth.

Needle-Free Anesthetic

Patient comfort is important when providing dental cleanings as it allows the dental hygienist to get to the areas that are difficult to reach without causing discomfort. Different options are available.

Oral Health Education

Education is key. Oral health education is an essential aspect of maintaining good oral health. It is a way to teach how to take care of your teeth and gums, prevent cavities, and maintain healthy oral hygiene habits. It can help prevent oral diseases, which can have a significant impact on the quality of life.

Professional Teeth Whitening

We offer an in-office (mobile) whitening treatment that can leave your teeth noticeably brighter after just one session—often up to five shades whiter. Unlike take-home kits, this option requires no impressions or trays and is designed to be comfortable, with minimal to no pain or sensitivity. The whitening process combines a hydrogen peroxide/carbamide peroxide gel with our Beyond Ultra UV light technology to achieve safe, effective, and long-lasting results. See pricing details here.

Direct Billing

We offer direct billing to most dental insurances for your convenience. See what insurance companies we direct bill with here.

Smiles in Motion

At Colleen Dental Hygiene Care, we believe everyone deserves to feel their best. That’s why we created the Smiles in Motion program: for every 1,000 km we drive in our Sprinter, we provide a free dental cleaning to someone in need. Dental care can be hard to access, and we want to change that—helping our community feel better, smile brighter, and regain confidence, one smile at a time. Learn more here.
